The Perpetual Threat of Loss
Fall 2020 (in progress) This work addresses the experience of losing my hair during chemotherapy treatment, the role that hair plays in identity and the way we cover our heads both as protection and adornment. I continuously turn the camera on my myself to document and explore my ongoing treatment for stage IV colorectal cancer. With every new photo I make, another connection is made to a previous photo or a new question or answer is raised. *A selection of these photos were chosen as a finalist for "New Delta Review's" 2020-21 Ryan R. Gibbs Award for Photography.
